TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA

A temporary resident visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a visa office which allows the foreign nationals to visit Canada for a limited duration. Canada allows people to come on many different purposes, one of them is visiting Canada or to see your family. There are some visa exempt countries but others do need authorization.

TOURIST/VISITOR VISA

  • Valid passport, proof of identity or other travel documents.
  • Satisfy CIC official that you have strong ties to your home country (e.g. a job, home and family)
  • Must satisfy CIC that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.
  • Should have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay.
  • May require a letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
  • Must be healthy and may require undergoing medical from CIC panel physician.
 

SUPER VISA

The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa (Super Visa) is a temporary resident permit that allows parents and grandparents of to stay for up to 2 years in Canada per visit. It is valid for up to 10 years. The application for this visa is made to a visa office outside of Canada.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Applicant must be eligible for a regular visitor visa and should not be ineligible on basis of criminal and medical ground.
  • Relationship proof to show that they are the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that is valid for at least one year, providing a minimum coverage of $100,000 for health care, hospitalization and repatriation.
  • Undergo a medical examination before applying.
  • Family member should provide the applicant with a letter of invitation.
  • Demonstrate their income is above a predetermined minimum level.
