CAREGIVER IMMIGRATION
If you have work experience in-home child-care provider or home support worker, you may be able to apply for permanent residence under caregiver class. There are two programs for this:
1) CARING FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM
- 2 years full-time work experience in Canada as a home child (under 18 years of age) care provider in the 4 years before applying.
- Meet minimum language and educational requirements.
2) CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH HIGH MEDICAL NEEDS
- 2 years full time experience in Canada in the 4 years before applying as:
- Registered Nurse.
- Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Nurse Aides, Orderlies and Patient Service.
- Home Support Worker.
- Meet minimum language and educational requirements.
3) Live-In Caregiver
- TR valid status.
- Work Permit as LICG
- Entered Canada as LICG.
- 2 years or full-time work as LICG or 3900hrs/22 months in the 4 years after entry.
